Head of the House of Boateng culinary department, Master Chef Moto Sun spent years learning how to make sushi in Japan. After a stint in Australia where he worked at a number of notable eateries, Moto Sun moved to Alberta where he met Castro Boateng. Today, Moto's culinary craftsmanship is evident in every tasty example of global cuisine served at our one-of-a-kind restaurant in Langford.
Vancouver Island native, Misty Olsen, brings countless years of hospitality experience to her position as operations manager at House of Boateng restaurant in Langford. Not only is Olsen an Ambassador for the Vancouver-wide Buy BC Eat Drink Local Initiative, Misty also serves as a certified Wedding planner. A few words about our owners
Ghana born Castro Boateng came to Canada with his family when he was nine years old. He attended culinary school in Toronto after which he apprenticed with famed European chefs Colin Watson and Stewart Cameron. Castro's next gig was at the posh Turnberry Resort in Scotland. After that, Boateng devoted his culinary expertise to the Rimrock Resort Hotel in Banff, the Fairmont Southampton Princess in Bermuda and served as Executive Chef at the prestigious Aerie Resort.
Today, Castro Boateng is raising a family on Victoria Island with his wife Charlotte while providing first-class cuisine at his restaurant in Langford. Boateng is a delightfully talented albeit humble man. He might not boast about it, but Boateng has been award numerous medals and trophies for his culinary creations.
English-born Charlotte Boateng arrived in Canada in 1995 and fell in love with the Great White North. Sometime in the early 2000s, Charlotte moved to Banff where she met and fell in love with Castro Boateng at the Rimrock Resort. Today, Charlotte serves administrative duties and the occasional cup of espresso at House of Boateng restaurant in Langford.
